I’m sure you have seen these little babies on the feet of the hipster runner about town? They have a little to do with the ‘running barefoot or in minimal footwear’ work done by Daniel Liebermann.

Interesting to note that his work was partially funded by the Vigram five fingers corporation, the makers of this footwear that perhaps have a vested interested in the concept of no longer running in Nikes.

Fixyourownback.com has a short video on this matter and offer the following comments,

* The fossil record suggests that humans not only evolved as endurance runners, but that they evolved to run long distance landing on the forward part of the foot.
* The vast majority of runners wearing thick running shoes land on their heels.
* Barefoot runners typically run on their forefoot.

The reason I bring this up is that I can see their potential as Pilates footwear. Have you any feedback on their use?
