A copy of Spa Life magazine came my way via a colleague. After lusting over the featured destinations over a quiet cup of tea, I read through the article she had recommended to me. Thought I’d share some of the ideas with you as, although aimed at Yoga teachers, it is readily applicable to us too.

This week, we start with the first few features,

  • Care for others
If you take the focus off yourself, you can see a new reality, that is, we are all one and that this time we have with others is to be shared, it is not all about you. Caring is not so much what you say, but what you do in your thoughts and actions when noone is looking and none can hear you. It does not need or want praise or gratitude.

  • A love of teaching and serving
As your students connect with you and understand what you are all about, they keep coming back. They know how special you are without you needing to advertise and mass promote what you do. You can fill others with a genuine vision of what they are, and what they can become. Understanding that life is not static but constantly changing, moving, evolving, even in the smallest of movements and quietest of moments there can be great joy.

  • Conduct the class for your students, not for you
Again it is about service to others. The more you give, the more you have to give, you will not get tired and fatigued but be renewed by this flowing, creative energy that your teaching and service to others releases. By becoming aware of this energy, it becomes an acknowledged part of you.

Thank you for sharing these ideas Lara.
