A very skilled Pilates colleague who has undergone breast cancer surgery in the last 12 months, recently commented that the two videos she found on Pilates for breast surgery clients are not as good as she hoped for. Arm exercises help breast cancer survivors
The study found that slowly building strength with upper-body weightlifting actually helps relieve some of the arm and hand swelling that affects up to a quarter of breast cancer survivors. Doctors have typically advised women to avoid using the affected arm to lift anything heavier than 6.8 kg, for fear of making the condition worse.American Cancer Society
