I have been experimenting with Kit Laughlins’ (from Canberra) approach to stretching, called Contract-relax and have had some success. It can be done alone or with a partner, and it really gives a very good stretch, making you focus and control what you are doing. Not a mindless form of stretching at all, I encourage you to have a look at his ideas.
