From Pilates Pro editor Amy Leibrock 15 April 2009 – “In January, we reported on a bill under review by the New Jersey legislature, which would establish a State Board of Fitness Professionals and charge them with issuing licenses to fitness professionals, including Pilates instructors.”
Pilates Method Alliance have since covered this issue (16 April 2009) and you can read their commentary here. “The bill’s authors appeared to presume that the body of knowledge and skills of a personal trainer, as well as personal training certification, should be required of New Jersey Pilates teachers.”
