I am so tired of seeing the perfect dancer shape epitomised in ads for Pilates equipment and exercises. Perfect pointe, legs shaped like shanks, extension beyond necessary?
How much of the population enjoying the benefits of Pilates actually look like that?
Is it realistic to offer this as a benchmark of how it looks to be on a reformer, or executing Swan?
Advertisers still trying to con us into thinking we are something we are not?
If you do look like that has Pilates made you look that way?
Do you think it entices people to try Pilates at your studio if they see a picture like that on your website?
Aren’t we in the business of helping people feel good, and set realistic goals?
That’s all, Sunday night rant over. Moving on.
